The Institute of Horticultural Production Systems, Vegetable Systems Modelling Section, Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH) attaches great importance to the security of your data. Purpose of data processing
Your data will be processed for the purpose of organizing and conducting the event 'FSPM2020- Functional-structural plant models'. This also includes the processing of submitted abstract texts for the creation of a book of abstracts and the processing of texts for the publication of articles in a special issue of the journal 'in silico Plants'. These texts are sent to an international committee as part of an evaluation process. The final versions of the articles will be sent to Oxford University Press for publication.
Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for the data processing of the mandatory data in the registration form is Art. 6 Para. 1 b) GDPR. In addition, further optional data may be entered voluntarily in the registration form. The legal basis for the data processing of the optional data is the consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. Your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR is the legal basis for including your first and last name and your institution in the list of participants. If you provide information on dietary preferences, your consent extends to the special categories of personal data pursuant to Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a) GDPR.
Obligation to provide
You are not obliged to provide such information, but participation in the event is only possible if you provide us with the required data, which is referred to as mandatory information. The communication of further optional data is not necessary and is voluntary.
Revocability of consent
You may revoke your consent to the processing of optional data and the inclusion of your data in the list of participants pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR at any time with effect for the future. In this case, we will no longer process this data and delete it. The legality of the data processing until revocation is not affected by this. The revocation is possible informally via the above-mentioned contact data of the responsible person.
We process your data for as long as is necessary for the planning and concluding execution of the event or due to applicable legal provisions such as the obligation to retain invoice documents. Should you wish your data to be deleted, we will delete your data immediately, unless there are legal obligations to retain it.

- If you submit an abstract or a paper, in addition to the corresponding texts the personal data (as listed above) of all co-authors will be processed.
Recipient of personal data
- Employees of the Institute of Horticultural Production Systems and the LUH Finance Department responsible for organising the event
- If you agree, your name, first name and institution will be added to the list of participants, which will be handed out to the participants.
- The abstract texts and the texts of the articles will be sent to an international panel of colleagues as part of the evaluation process.
- The texts of the articles will be sent to the responsible persons of the publisher 'Oxford University Press'.
You have the following rights with regard to your personal data (pursuant to Art. 15 to 21 GDPR):

Right of opposition
You also have the right to object to data processing at any time. We will then no longer process your data unless there are compelling reasons worthy of protection for the processing or the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims.

You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data is in breach of the law.
